Song of the Week: "So Small"

On a random shuffle of the songs on my Ipod this week at the gym, the song "So Small” by Carrie Underwood played. I have been inspired by Carrie ever since I saw her on American Idol in 2005.  I hadn’t heard this song in a while and forgot how powerful of a message it had.

The lyric that really struck a chord with me was the following:

Sometimes that mountain you’ve been climbing is just a grain of sand. What you’ve been out there searching for forever is in your hand.” – Carrie Underwood

I find that when we want an answer, most of us are quick to look to other sources, especially in uncertain or hard times.  Yet, we forget to look inside ourselves to find answers.

This happened to me recently.  As you know, obviously, I’m a blogger but I’m relatively new to this. I  always like to learn how to improve and get better.  Well, I reached out to a couple of people to ask for tips/advice on how to become a better blogger.

One nicely responded in a way that made me come to the realization that it is important to look inside oneself to find answers and strength.  He said, “Why are you looking for help? You already know so much about blogging; I mean look at your blog.” Thanks, Stephen, for the support!

I was mixing up insecurity and doubt with lack of knowledge.  I know how to blog but because being creative takes courage, sometimes negative things will distract us along the way and make us discouraged.

As Carrie sings, “While you sitting 'round thinking 'bout what you can't change and worrying about all the wrong things; time's flying by moving so fast you better make it count 'cause you can’t get it back.”

So, go make every minute count!

Hope you are all having a great weekend.
