Learning to Trust (i.e., To Reach Unknown Shores Together)

In recent posts, I have been talking a lot about the importance of individuals’ perseverance in life. In case you weren’t sure what I meant specifically by ‘perseverance,’ it can be defined as the “steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.” (dictionary.com) Perseverance is fundamental to achieving your goal; however, your goal HAS to be built on a strong foundation. For example, would you keep going in a relationship if you didn’t trust the other person?

All the successful relationships require trust. This can be generalized to all domains as trust is essential to perseverance. I know many situations where individuals are worried and obstacles occur, but they proceed on their path with the trust that it will turn out all right in the end.  Because of this trust, they can keep going towards their goal.  Trust is the “reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.”(dictionary.com)

One of the areas where I show my personal strength, ability, confidence, and trust is on, in, or near water. I am inspired by it.  Even though I have had setbacks in the water, I trust it completely. I know it, try to understand it, and I can depend on it, variabilities and all.  So inevitably, I came up with an acronym for ‘trust,’ while I was in the water. I value acronyms as they help people learn very efficiently.  The acronym I created for TRUST is:To Reach Unknown Shores Together.

Therefore, I encourage you to TRUST (To Reach Unknown Shores Together) in these areas of your life:

What do you think of my acronym?  I was feeling very creative tonight so I made a picture for each of the categories.I'd love to hear your thoughts.
